Brian and I went to visit his mom at Rock Creek where she lives. It is a National Forest and very beautiful. It has been in their family for 30+ years. His grandparents owned a spot up there and have kept it in the family. Hopefully someday Brian will be able to take it over. There are lakes to fish at, trails to ride dirt bikes, campfires to sit around and roast weenies and marshmellows, & family to have fun with. His cousins from Portland came with their kids and we all had a great time. Lots of BBQ with Brian's new smoker. It burns pellets and the meat tasted so yummy. Brian is really into marinating steaks and he is quite a good cook. This last weekend went too fast but I am looking forward to spending time up there camping this summer.
I really enjoy being in the outdoors and having so much to do. I also brought some of my beading and started making some new jewelry. I am getting quite creative. I will have to post some pictures. It's a great feeling when someone out of the blue walks up to me and comments how beautiful my necklaces are and I proudly say, "Why thanks, I made it myself"!
I hope you all had a nice time too. I can't believe the month of May is almost over. It will be a year June 18th that I moved here to The Dalles. Wow how time fly's. I really love it here but really miss my family in Roseburg. It's definatly time for another visit to see the fam.
